I had a couple of motorcycles before and did not by my first car til I was 18 yrs old. I'll never forget the first time I saw her sitting in the Stater Brothers (grocery store) parking lot. She was a 1969 Cougar XR7. Blue with a black landau top. Western mags and air shocks in the back so the rear end was raised up just enough to make the car look really cool. The engine was a 351 ci Windsor. I always remember driving along an empty streach of Pacific Coast Hwy, CA. one nite when a 1978 Pontiac Firebird (Smokey and the Bandit) pulled along side. We both hit the gas. I hate to have to say it but the Firebird had just enough horses to slowly pull ahead. I had alot of fun with that car.

I bought a 1976 Camaro back in 99" when I was 17. Paid $4,000 for it from a guy who had an identical twin to it. He was going to show them both, but sold me one and used the cash to buy a supercharger for the other on. It was blue with white racing stripes, and had a 350 V8. That thing looked sweet, and sounded sweeter. Everywhere I went I got complimented on that car. I miss it.

$75.00 76 Pinto Station Wagon.... Hit in the front. Cosmetic/ bolt on damage only. aquired a parts car for another $50. Not your average Pinto though. Full towing package + HD suspension = 2.8 liter V6, C4 Auto instead of the usual C3, Bigger brakes all around, stiffer springs, bigger front sway bar and a factory rear sway bar.

I yanked the side windows and installed the panel wagon peices from a 77' panel wagon.

I've only come across 2 other factory V6 Pinto's, one was a wagon, one was a 4 spd Coupe, with a trunk instead of a hatch... I bought the Coupe.

i wish i was that lucky!!!! my 1st car was a 4cyl nissan pickuptruck that came home on a flatbed wrecker w. no wheels or rims, destroyed brakes, shot electrical system .. the only thing that worked was the motor.... once i replaced the coil, all the plug wires and the batt wires lol

had that puppy running the 1st day and by the end of day 3 i had rebuilt the entire braking system, went to a junkyard for the wheels, rims, drums and rotors, bought all new shocks for the front and replaced the springs in back, after 2 more days of wiring, i had lights!!!!!

fast forward 9yrs, i managed to put a little more than 279k mi on it (it had 118k when i got it), i wish i still had it, but someone in a very very nice old cadillac showed me how to make the bed collapsible

My first car was giving to me from my parents, just a 4 door reddish/rust color chevrolet. The liner in the ceiling sagged, my girlfriends and I cut it out and drew on it instead (that is where I wrote down my directions and phone numbers) The lights inside on the dash never came on, the gas needle didnt work and the speed was all off. Never knew if I was speeding or even had the gas to get somewhere. I set the back seat on fire be mistake (should not have been smoking). It died under a year of me having it, ohh yeah memories of ole nellie.
