Really does bite that Pontiac went out. They really did produce some hot cars.

I like the newer cars but Pontiac really never made a "true" pontiac since the end of the pontiac V-8 in '78. Although these engines were used intill they ran out in '79. After that it was "corporate" engined cars.

When I was a teenager we had a '63 Grand Prix and I could leave anyone in the dust at any signal. It had some big time get up and go to it. I also had to sit on a pillow to see over the steering wheel. It had bucket seats with a really smooth ride and it got 6 mpg, but then gas was only about 40 or 50 cents per gallon. I also got real up close and personal with the floor board one time when my sister had to slam on the brakes (vinyl seats and no seat belts).

My first official car was a 1978 Firebird, bought it when I was 15 & it became the biggest money pit I have ever owned. Oddly would love to have it back today!!!

Bought an '01 TA in '03, threw some parts from SLP at it to wake it up & had never owned a car that would lose grip between third & fourth. I realize there are better tuned & much faster cars out there, but that definitely caught my attention. Drove it normally for the most part, but it was good to know it would run if there was a need.

Back in the early 70's I had a 68 GTO, 400 4bbl Auto with the His/Hers shifter in it. Burgandy with Black Interior. Wasn't the fastest, but it was set up to CRUISE. Lived in New Mexico back then and everything was a drive. Miss that car. Replaced it with a 72 Buick GS Stage 1 that was faster and even prettier than the Goat. Had to sell that when I got orders for overseas duty.
