Old pics, had to run them on the scanner. One day I will learn how to crop.
1978 Firebird Formula. GM was crossbreeding in that era. I had a 350CI Chevy engine in that one.
My buddy had a Buick V6 in his Firedird. Another guy had an Olds engine in his Buick.
Off topic I know.

Other car is an AMC Hornet that just happened to be in this set. Actually a decent running car, Had a 304CI V8

Lived in New Mexico back then and everything was a drive. Miss that car. Replaced it with a 72 Buick GS Stage 1 that was faster and even prettier than the Goat. Had to sell that when I got orders for overseas duty.
The 68 came in a multitude of trim levels from engine to suspention to interiors. Mine had the HO400 ci but had drum brakes and the small sway bars. Fun to drive if you didn't need to stop or turn quickly. Major scary if you did need to stop or manuever. The 400 ci in HO was awsome though. I drove one with the better brakes and suspention, what a difference. Had to sell mine before I could upgrade it. There are now even better parts on the market. Air suspention etc. Would love to get another one and take it all the way. The GS Buick in 70, before they started cutting power was even faster than your 72 mod.. As far as I can remember, the GS only came with the disc brakes and better suspention package and most had air conditioning too, at least down south they did. A real "preppy" sports car and even more rare than the Goat. Quite valuable these days.

Nothing wrong with a Tin Indian/Chevy crossbreed at all in my book. More and cheaper parts for the Chevy 350. Lots of machine shops that know how to do major tricks with the Chevy. Over-bore the block .30, eccentric grind rod journals and you get a 383 ci. Crower rods, headers, cam, and a bit of head work. Mouse motor weight with Rat motor power almost. Tons of fun. "Well Fellas, it's just a small block Chevy, pay me, I won"

Definitely wasn't complaining. Same motor went in the Camaro Z-28 that year.
GM wasn't trying to do us any favors though. It was merely a cost cutting measure.
After some lawsuits alledging they were misrepresenting their products, they discontinued the practice.

I've got one of these. Wish it was the Bandit edition though. Mines the WS6 T/A black and gold without T-tops and the TRUE 6.6 Pontiac engine

of course they have #### in the lineup... Pontiac never made 10 good models. lol

I had a black n gold transam. I love the looks of the car but they leave alot to be desired in fit and finish

The Fiero made a great little car with some work.

Seen a few with the 2.8 TPI chevy 6 that would light the tires. And with a little creative machining you could easily swap in the parts to make it a 3.4L

I even saw one of them with a V-8 But cant remember what size V-8 it was.

And for the rust bucket coment.... What 70's and 80's car wasn't???? Took them awhile to improve the rust proofing. Ad the poor metal they used into that and a little morning dew made the cars from that era rust.
