Depends on the bank. 60 days or 2 payments used to be the norm.
But again, it truly does depend on the bank.

I used to work in the car business. Most banks will generally come get it once you hit 90 days some sooner. If you call them and explain to them whatever the situation is they will work with you. Most will even defer a payment or 2 for you if you need it. Unfortunately most people don't think they will and just don't pay or call and then they wake up one morning or come out from work and their car is gone.

Most flag you # 60 days and come after it after 90 days, with todays state of affairs people are paying others to burn their car down in order to get out from under it.

If you think you will be late, call the finance company, they may be able to postpone the payment to a later date, or be willing to work with you, they would rather work with you than have to repo the vehicle. I have had to do this in the past too.

I would be very careful about this... Did you know that if they repo the car, they can still garnish wages until the debt is paid in full?(It's in the fine print of many loan contracts) And you will NOT even have the car.

Much Much better to call the lender and work something out.

nobody bu the IRS can ganish your wages in TX. that's a state by state thing and you live in a Nanny state

they will repo the car and sell it at auction and send you a bill for the remainder due plus the cost of the roposession.
