Chevy Goes Mad!..Max With New Police Cruiser

Quote:
At the International Association of Chiefs of Police convention in Denver on Monday, Chevrolet introduced the Caprice Police Patrol Vehicle (PPV), which it hopes to begin delivering to law enforcement agencies in 2011, and talk about a delivery.
The police Caprice is to be based on a car sold by General Motors' Australian arm known as the Holden Statesman, and will be built along side that vehicle in the Down Under city of Elizabeth. Until recently, GM imported the smaller Pontiac G8 sedan from the same facility.
Pricing and full specifications have not yet been released, but the current Chevrolet Impala police package starts at $25,000. Unfortunately, there are no plans to offer the vehicle to the general public...yet.

The sad part of that is, they had to get the thing from their Holden division. The dipwads in Detroit couldn't figure out how to make a decent car anymore if they tried.

If it drives anything like the G8, crims better think twice before running.

Ive always wanted one of those little whirly birds from Road Warrior, with the molotovs of course. Or that Big flatbed dually running on a bottle that still managed to outrun mel's interceptor (with half a dozen people on board and 2 strapped to the grill) I have to call shenanigans on that! If freightliner had that technology you could go coast to coast by lunch!

Owned, yes. But they have nothing to do with each other's development.

So, where is the sad part there? I'm still correct in the comment that GM Detroit built #### for the last several years.

The truly sad aspect of this is that GM will cut the balls off of this vehicle just like they did when they brought the GTO over from down under.

For being a country all about bigger better...it would appear auto and motorcycle makers are always sending us toned down versions of ####, or not offering the high end vehicles to us. I used to be in to scooters and Europe has the pimp ones while we get lame ducks.
