Howdy Lon-Guyland! Best of luck to you. I used my F-350 for a long time and then after it broke (again) I bought a single axle tractor with sleeper and will NEVER go back to a dually. I many not get the super mileage you getting in a Dodge, BUT, I make up for it by being able to load heavier loads and I can actually sleep comfortably w/o worrying about lot lizards staring into my cab all night LOL. Plus the toque difference is amazing, I NEVER worry about getting up any hill. But whatever you do, best of luck to ya!

It's rough man.. Just like everyone said it would be. Came close to quiting a hand full of times just because of dead beat brokers not wanting pay. Ex: loads heading to south Florida pay 750 and up. Some a little less at times but haven't taken anything for less than that yet. Loads coming back up to NY is the part that gets me angry. $250-300 a car!!! I don't work for free. That's just a plain slap in the face if you ask me. Ill find something good in GA/SC/NC usually just one that will pay for my fuel/tolls heading back. I understand the season right now is heading south but geez, can I eat!? With those prices not only do I not make money but I end up negative heading north. Crazy thing is there are idiots that take them!! F that #####. I take too much pride in what I do. I mean business and that's what I'm here to do.

Maybe you can do a triangle, NY to FL, FL-TN, TN-NY? Maybe something that will pay leaving Fla a little better.

I sold my single axle and got a full sized freight shaker with the money i sold my other truck for. I live in sc. The pick ups were in state and the highest paying loads were going to NYC for almost 700 a car. Now when i left car hauling it was at 350 a car. It was time to leave. It would have been better if i had a 7 or 9 car trailer. @500 per car. I just dont see making any money in it anymore. And the brokers say your getting a good deal, more like a good screwing.. I had a broker call and ask me to pick up a 4x4 c10 pickup. Said it was easy. When i got there @darlington sc. The truck had no tie rods, transmission was stuck in park because someone broke the shifting for in the transmission, the hood and bed wasnt attached to the truck. Big rust bucket. I was suppose to take it to Atlanta for $350, then before i leave the. Auction the broker says his supervisor cant pay the 350 so when i drop the car and pick up payment send them back $75. That was the last car ive hauled long distance. I quit and went and got a kenworth W900b worked it a few months, sold it and bought a 1999 Fld Condo with a CAT. Ive made more money pulling peoples crap to the junk yard

I head down to FL because my family is out there and of course it's nice to enjoy some nice weather but I'm already looking at other routes. With the money I paid for my wedge and dually, I could have got a tractor and maybe a 7 car and make a butt load more running just about the same fuel and tolls. Live and you learn I guess right?
