    Greetings everyone,

I would like to share my first year of trucking and first year of car-hauling and the day to day activities of my company. there are many skeptics out there and alot of false information about car hauling for PMTG. I would like to share my experiences with you.

12/7/12 i graduated from www.internationaltruckingschool.net of canton Mi, as i got closer and closer to my graduation date, i was doing research on where i should work, so i found this site(truckers report.com) and asked the Question which industries of trucking paid the most. Several guys told me tanker and the other told me car-hauling. After i got this info we had a job fair and Schneider was in full effect with all the bells and whistles, and i talked to the guy about pulling a tanker, so i thought 38 cpm for a student plus $50 to load and unload was good so i applied then my app got into a glitch and they say they never received it and i could apply again because of there system. So i toke this a sign that this company wasn't for me. So i asked my student adviser about car-hauling and she quickly asked me to do an on-line app for PMTG, PMTG doesn't take student from any school they only take students from 3 schools and they all are in Michigan. After i filled out my app i waited a week for a response and they accpect my CLEAN driving spotless driving record, it not clean anymore we can get to the bad stuff later, so i graduted on the 7th then i was in orientation on the 10th,

    More to come...

That is pretty rare ........ there are VERY few car haul outfits that take rookies right out of school. Looking forward to hearing more from you. 'Luck

I'd look for that to change in the next few years. Where I'm at will look at students if they graduated top of there class.

Lots of terminals are needing drivers and are having a difficult time finding candidates.

I didnt go to a school(truck driving) but how do you graduate at the top of your class? I thought it was a pass or fail. You have to be new at some point but recruiting from schools sounds like whomever came up with that idea was a genius! (Sarcasm)

It's based on points almost like regular school.

The problem I've seen is most people don't realize how much actual work this job is and either they just can't do it or they won't and they wash out.

Plus, and not to poke at the older generation but there is a lot to learn when starting out and it seems like the older you are the less chance of making it you have.

Ok. All thread hijacking aside I'm really interested in what the OP has to say about PMTG. Because the drivers I've talked to at SIA aren't to happy.

    Greetings everyone,

    Entry#2

Ok im in orientation, kinda nervous for some reason, but i got there on Sunday night from detroit , they had holiday inn accumdations all setup for me when i arrived. So the next morning all of us,(there were 4 of us) meet in the lobby at 8am went over the the headquarters to do some paper then we went to get our company physicals done, now this was different for this physical requird us to do a minium of one pull up, and push and pull 100lbs, and some other stuff but i forgot, oh and drug screen of course, After all was passed we got a $25 a day per-diem cards for food, we did get paid $75 a day for training and the 25 for food daily. which is great i heard because alot of companies wont flip the bill for food.Later that day we also did our road test, of course i was nervous because i just got out of school, and the trainer could tell, he told me to relax and just do what you did in school, and i did exactly that, double clutching and all, so i passed no problem after i was finsh he told me"listen if you didnt know how to drive they wouldnt have given you a license, and you'll get experience driving while your on the road period". After he said that i was good. but the rest of the week was all learning company policy which is standard, logs qualcomm, blah blah blah lol im sorry i really dont rememebr

The second week of orientation was all hands on trainging
