Could cars be protected from others in transport on a wedge trailer by putting car covers on them?
Also could I put it in my contract to the shipper/broker that Only I will be allowed to handle the vehicles at pick-up and drop off?

The idea is to prevent damage as much as possible and take before pictures of the vehicle in all areas for showing defects.

    Would this help?

1- Trying to understand the question. You are going to buy car covers, and then cover the vehicles on your trailer?

2- You WILL be the only one taking the vehicle on and off. It is expected of you as the transporter.

3- You are expected to prevent ANY damage as it will come out of your pocket as the transporter. And you very much need to inspect and document any existing damage on a vehicle BEFORE you move it 1".

4- If you cover a vehicle you need to ensure there are no areas where the cover can whip the paint. It will take it to bare metal if left to flap around.

I have figured out how to prevent whipping on my own vehicle a 2012 Mercedes slk 350 amg. I am comfortable enough with that part, I just really know if it was allowed. Also I'd plan on keeping 3 car covers with bungees and wrapper straps to prevent air from entering the cover that would cause whipping along with my chains, straps, and torque bars.

A - If you want to cover and secure the load, ditch the wedge and buy an enclosed car trailer, or stinger set. ESPECIALLY if you plan on hauling high end (old or new).

B - Golden Car Haul Rule # 3174 - The less you handle the cargo units, the better. ESPECIALLY if you're a broker. Remember, the key word in 'broker' is broke ! This would include everything SUCH AS covering them. Imagine that bungee yanking free of you cold, wet hand, and the hook flapping wildly up and down on a Benz slk 350 amg !!!

C - Print off what SLANT said, and stick it in your back pocket !

Sounds like a lot of work for a wedge im tired just thinking about it
I would do a good inspection before you load the units and unload the units "yourself" and would skip the car covers never used them and havent had problems.

So something like this? http://www.carmate-trailers.com/new...=387932&CatDesc=Cargo+Trailers&ModelYear=2014 44' of floor space that gives me enough room to have two long cars or 3 cars less than 14 feet aka 11-12 feet in length and that's pushing it and unikely haha. so maybe this? 3 car stacker http://www.racingjunk.com/Used-Trailers/182278243/2013-44-Aluminum-Stacker-Trailer.html this i'd have to buy a class 8 for. but hey why not the class 8 expenses come out to the same as a dodge 3500

Gonna be hard to pay off a $115,000 trailer starting out......

The car cover idea is not a very good one, unless you plan on all the cars being the same dimension, what about dirt that blows up under the cover, the first paint job you have to buy as the cover sanded the paint off won't be fun.

You're right, should I just start hauling lower end cars then and build up to the higher end cars?
