When is someone going to tell the general public that UShip take 22-27% of the top of trucker shipments? People are under the impression that they pay $35 to post their listing they whatever they pay the transporter the rest. Nobody realizes that UShip takes a percentage from the transporter. The big problem is if you tell any shipper that on there that they delete the message or delete you. If they arent doing anything wrong then why dont they tell people how much money they are making

You mean the broker who says they're not a broker? I wish the DOT would walk in and shut UShip down just to get rid of most of the scum transporters on there.

But my 1997 Ford E-150 van is totally safe pulling that 15,000lb load on a 7,000lb rated trailer, the guy on Craigslist told me he never had a problem when I bought it from him.

Thats what I mean. Not quite sure how they get away with it. The DOT is never gonna walk in to UShip if nobody complains about them. Hint Hint. The mix of legit carriers doing business for profit and some hilljack with is '81 Ford f250 and single car trailers with no commercial insurance is ridiculous. The minute you haul anything for profit you have to be DOT compliant. Plain and simple. And, the fact thats its all over the internet is crazy. Im all for the bidding and the competition but they have to be honest to everyone who they are. Tell the customer that our bids have to cover their 22-27% profit margin.

Maybe the AIPBA will get some action on U-Ship and other's. There is an FMCSA site to lodge complaints.

James Lamb commented on a discussion in Linkin Transportation Professionals.
Is it a Broker or a "Dispatch Service?"
The FMCSA has asked trade groups like the AIPBA (http://www.aipba.org) to assist them in identifying unlicensed brokerage operations being conducted under names like "dispatch services" and is soliciting complaints via http://nccdb.fmcsa.dot.gov/hc_disclaimer1.asp?public=open... It is not what you call yourself that defines whether you are a broker or not, it is what you do. If you are a person who receives compensation in exchange for arranging motor carrier transportation of regulated commodities across state lines, then you are an interstate property broker no matter what you call yourself. Unlawful brokers unfairly compete with our duly licensed members by circumventing the licensing and bond requirements for property brokerages. For the regulatory definition of property broker see: http://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/49/371.2 AIPBA (https://www.facebook.com/…/Association-of-…/155741507818427…) has a policy of first educating unlicensed brokers to secure licensing; however, we reserve the right to report unlicensed activity by those knowingly and intentionally operating illegally.less

That's what happens when #### gets on TV. Every backwoods inbread redneck somabich out there with a old farm truck and a firewood trailer made from a 87 chevy box wants to go haul loads.

Just like everyone wants to be a Ice road trucker and go catch some crab.

That TV show is funny but the worst thing for our business. I love how the customer says they aren't gonna pay if the shipment is late. I dare you not too pay me. Logistics are what they are. Sometimes things are late
