I hauled cars for the last 25 years before I started to draw my pension. The company that I retired from has since been bought out and put out of business by the new owners. With that being said , since you live in Michigan, I would recommend Jack Cooper because they are the biggest, with size comes job security.
Cassens would be second on my preference list. I had occasion to work with them when I was a steward and business agent and I always felt the owners were straight shooters.
You probably would not go wrong with either one.
The training will good at either one, you will not be turned lose with truck and load worth 3/4 a million $ until you are worthy young Jedi.Colorato Thanks this. -
Companies can train you but in my opinion you learn the most by watching others in the field. I've been hauling cars many years and still learn new things. I watch others and ask why they did what they did and sometimes try it and sometimes not. It's hard to really train someone when there is so many different load combinations and different vehicles out there.
Also I am a little confused,,,,you promote URS on some of the other threads but won't try them yourself? -
most guys ask where get a start in carhauling i promote them because who is gonna hire you with 6 months over the road experience and no car-hauling experience
-
So where would someone go to with no car hauler experience, but 5 years OTR. I like the idea of load yourself. ##### lumpers

Where do you live? That plays a part into who to suggest.

I live just south east Columbus Ohio.

I was looking at United Road, but there's another company I see in Columbus. They are red sterlings with a big "C" but I can never read the name. (Usually going the other way.)
