Does anyone use, the Eco Cr iPhone app? http://www.ecocr.com/ Just wondering what you think of it. Our drivers are asking about it and it seems pretty simple, but it's fairly new, so not a lot of reviews. We're thinking about trying it, seems like it'd cut down on a lot of paperwork. Any thoughts?
I found this video on it https://vimeo.com/67595203 . Not much info out there from actual users.

I guess no one is using it. We're going to try it out on 2 drivers to see how it goes before taking the plunge on everyone.

GrapeApe and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this.

Hey GA haven't used, but since you posted it I will look into when I'M get home.
Thx StanSpeedloader Thanks this. -
So nothing bad to report yet, I'll post back after a week or so when I get more feedback.
One minus I could see is people who are not very tech savvy, they just wont like it. But they are the people probably wont have a smartphone to begin with. This could be an issue for company trying to get their drivers using it, you may have a group that just doesn't want to.KANSAS TRANSIT, Hammer166 and Speedloader Thank this. -
I hate to say it but I'm afraid if you aren't very tech savy I thnk yor days in this segment of he industry are numbered just too many people watng too much documentation.

I became the dark horse in one meeting because I suggested grading customers with a "hassle factor" number that was all inclusive from driver reports, billing complexities and rate of collections. I felt some customers were "just not worth the hassle" IMO.
JMOSpeedloader and KANSAS TRANSIT Thank this. -
I agree with you C that's why when certain brokers call we never have any trucks available. -
It seems that who ever made the app has has some time behind the wheel moving cars. It's got all the "cover your butt" stuff. It GPS and time stamps pickups and deliveries, very detailed damage reporting (with options to take pictures of all damage). The drivers like it, and it's easier as far as the office end goes too. Both drivers said it only took a few loads to get used to it and not real problems so far after the first week.
So after the first week, everyone agrees that it's well worth it to reimburse the drivers the $20 to buy the app. I'm mostly in the maintenance end, so this is all second had from talking to drivers and the dispatchers. On my end, it has helped me a little only by having quick easy access to when drivers delivered a load when I know they are coming in for service. I can see that it was unloaded at 7:30 AM and he's about 2 hours away, so the truck will be at the shop around 10:00. -
While not a car hauler I know plenty and they have many stories of the lower end dealers trying to boost profits from carrier damage claims. From the stories it appeared that heavy documentation with photo's was the best way to handle this AND if one particular group had a bad record of claims then they should be cut loose.
In chemicals when this strategy was suggested it was OMG! Cut a customer loose? Are you crazy?........well yeah......if he complains about meter readings and we've proven the meter many times, if he holds truck outside gate for 30 plus minutes for security, if the back office has to fight with him every month with billing and collections...aka."the hassle factor"
