short trips or long hauls?
hello all im new to this forum and trucking and i would like to know for hauling cars is short trips better or are long hauls better?

Depends on you're location, but as a rule the experienced guys target 1000 mile moves.

Its all personal preference. I enjoy short hauls. Ltl normally pays a little better you really have to hussle.

thx for the insight I try to tell my co driver we need longer runs instead of more short runs. that way we don't have to load and unload more times

That's the way allot of the old hands see it too. They like to run a triangle of average 1000 mile legs=3000 mile trip.

It all depends on what you're going to be doing. If you are working for percentage and are a high energy person who doesn't need much sleep, then local work can pay well. If you like to sleep and more of the thought that slow and steady wins the race then go over the road.
