I got quoted $750 by a broker to move my suburban from LA to MINNEAPOLIS next week. Are they just telling me this and then at the last minute try to get more from me or does that look like a going rate. Thanks , Myron

Friend got a dodge 2500 diesel moved from Texas to mn for $850. It just might take a week or so but you may need to pay a little more.

LA Los Angeles, or LOUISIANA? Just to be sure.

Sounds kinda cheap for 1600+ miles?

Looks like 1900 miles at .39/mile. Someone will end up doing it.

Multiply that by 8 cars equals $6000. That comes out to $3.15 per mile, You're right , I'll do it.

Call an auto carrier direct, cut the broker out. I've shipped motorcycles and cars numerous times around the country, never went through a broker.

What would be a good carrier for this route?

You need a new #### calculator...unless this person was shipping 8 vehicles from one location & all dropping in the same location, it is not going to be anywhere close to $3.15. Add to that, the broker will want to keep at minimum $150 but more than likely $250. Then show me the high mount trailer or stinger that can load 8 Suburbans?

I do not know what you transport in your daily life & probably do not know much about it. Therefore I will not advise what rates it will take to move it, wish other people did the same.

To the original poster. Call Mcnutt & Ready Auto Transport. Both are large brokerages & can give you an idea of where pricing will actually be. They are not Joe Bob sitting in his back bedroom playing broker because they were awarded an MC for $300.

Do not personally go to Southern California, but am quite sure your original quote above will take more money to move than what you were quoted & after they have your deposit, you more than likely will not get it back regardless.

    Hammer166 Thanks this.
