    1. Should the government require a license for users of the Citizen Band ?

    2. Do you think it would have a positive, negative or no impact at all on trucking industry ?

I don't think it would have any type of impact on truck drivers; they would probably all just laugh and ignore it, then key up and start talking about "not having any panties on" , "shaddup steeuupid" and "pull over driver i'm a gunna whoop yer ###", if not hurling racial remarks.

As Rick G pointed out, a license was once required, but in the 1970's, many people ignored that requirement and started talking anyways. The license was abolished in 1983.

If they did bring back the license and if everyone abided by it, I don't think the air waves would be filled with as much trash and so forth.

Why did "they" stop the license requirement? Do you then think an FCC license requirement should be brought back?

CB licensing would be a joke and just another way to get the government more of our money.... we already have to pay extra for hazmat and twic cards....

I'm not for or against a license requirement, just asking a question to hear the responses.

The main reason they did away with the license is that it was nothing more than just sending them an application.

Those using the CB were not following the rules of the license and there was no way to enforce it.

If they brought the license back which is highly unlikely and i decided to follow the rules, i would have no need for a cb because i wouldn't get the license.

now if they upped the watts to say 25 or 50 instead of the 4 they allow then i might consider it

I still have my CB license filed away someplace, KBLL7394, but I've moved a zillion times since then.
