    Trailer

How about just buy a new 1 then your covered by the warranty and it is tax deductable i've found with alot of drivers all they seem to want to do is talk all day on the CB that don't make 1 a better driver, in fact all it does is jam up the air waves so that anyone who has any real news or emegency can't get through all the time i was driving hardly anybody ever said lets go down 1 channel or up what ever, just shows respect for other drivers, which leads me to think all there really on the radio for is to big note themselves instead of putting there head down and doing some real driving.

Don't encourage that, there is already enough of them with their head stuffed between their butt cheeks already!

Just to let you know randy dose take out d-11 and c-73 along with orther parts and puts back 32 to 38 parts depending on what cobra you have. Thats how he gets 47 to 53 watts out of a 29" And yes the owner has a key to randys room along with one other tech!!! AND YES WHEN A RADIO IS DONE THAY ALL GO OUT UNDER THE FRONT BENCH.

So Im facing a layoff at the Police Dept and heading back out on the road. The nice thing about a CDL and keeping your nose clean, and giving a notice when leaving a employer is, you never have to be without a job..

Anyway:: Im looking to buy a new radio. Last year I bought a General Lee from the last sponser of this forum.. I was less then happy. He told me he would peek and tune and turn the radio up. I paid extra for his "ultra service" He told me the radio would have an output of about 100watts. After putting the radio in the truck it was very clear that I wasnt putting out any where near 100watts. In fact the cobra 29 I took out of the truck sounded and put out better. So I stopped in the CB shop off the circle in indy ( the guy next to the pilot in the trailer) He hooked it up and told me I was putting out 50 watts. Anyway long story short and 100 bucks later The radio was rocking!! I finaly had the radio I thought I ordered in the first place.
Now I think I want another GL however Im a little gun shy after getting what I feel in my opinion was "hosed" from my last radio purchase.
What I want or think I want is a General Lee upgraded with the Top Gun Mods, aand a good mic, and if its truely available a " Better peek and tune" then normaly offered from the standard purchase. I dont know what the CB guy did in Indy But it was a HUGE difference!!
Someone please be honest. Whats the best output I can expect fom this radio? dont get me wrong Im not trying to talk to the moon, but I do want a solid talker and listener..

Thanks everyone for hearing me out!!
I have found that the CB shop on Highway 65 in northern Indiana at the "J" does a real good job & he does not lie to you ! I also have a General Lee & he is the only person I let work on it ! Highway 65 exit 240 ! Check him out , he opens at 4 pm !

I would like to know of any great cb shops myself and I wasn't looking for pictures of antique hams.
Nobody is posting enough in this thread about good c.b. shops or "honest c.b. guys/gals" instead you're all talking about a completely different subject and spamming this thread which titles a completely different subject.

Dr. Radio or Radio Doctor whatever. Start a "new thread" about your knowledge and see if you get any hits there. The other who have responded "might" have been a little ticked off that you are ranting and bragging about linear amps when we are discussing about "Honest C.B. shops or Guys/gals."
I've explained it again in different ways for you to read.
Please do us truckers and c.b.er's a favour and, "start your own thread on your own topic???" Thnx, Kevin.

Exactly!! Now can we get back on topic

I can add that since I orig posted this thread I have been through Indy and was very very very happy that Randy is still with the big O. I dont think you can find a better CB guy in the country or anyone who has half of his credintals! Bombay is pretty good with Ants and does a good job with trouble shooting SWR problems. But its still nice to know where all the shops are, as drivers its kinda hard to plan your trips around your CB needs!

What's funny is you guys that talk about Cricket's CB shop in Dallas pike and how the tech knows his stuff and that Buffalo's was a hack shop... The real funny part is the "tech" for Cricket was the tech at Buffalo's. lol You guys crack me up. His Name is "porkchop" and he is just as shady as the next guy.

Remember guys if you wanna get something done you gotta do it yourself. There is TONS of info on the web you can do all of the "CB Peak and tunes " yourself. all you need in a little patience and basic soldering skills. A meter helps as well

PM sent to OP. cbdoctor huh, well welcome to the forum. It's been awhile. I don't go to cbtricks much anymore. I think that is the last place I read your posts. I used a different user name there, (oldbear I think) and didn't post a whole lot. Since I have their old moderator near by, (yeah you know him) I don't need to visit the site much anymore. We have a bunch of old hammers here who hyjack about every thread to a ham theme, but I think they basically mean well. (flame away guys, I can take it!!) Looking forward to some good debates/arguments....all in good fun of course!!!
