I was debating on getting it all cleaned and tuned up, or getting a new one. Its been sitting around in the garage for a few years, and needs a new speaker and a tune up.
Yes.. it is the older one.

Yes.. you should keep it.

Your welcome....I have had a couple of these, and sold both of them. I kicked myself several times for selling them...don't make the same mistake!

Oh I won't not that I know I can't replace it. I'm sure I could buy a new Uniden and get something as decent, but there's something sweet about having an "oldie but goodie".

If you are going to buy a new 29 you might as well get a uniden 78 same radio when it comes down to it and far better quality

the newer 29s are junk when you might as well get a uniden but the 29s are still better than some

Re: Cobra 29 LTD Classic

I have my old trusty Uniden PC76XL, I have had it for eleven years and it has the mic cord coming from the side. I just never liked the one coming out of the face plate. I hope one day Uniden starts making them with the mic plug in on the side again. I had a Uniden Grant XL and sold it years ago, it was like new and I think I had it for two years and a friend of mine wanted it and gave me the price I paid new for it, I wished I never sold it, that was a sweet radio.

Re: Cobra 29 LTD Classic

As i have not had the opertunity to check out the "new" Grant I can't comment. I am sure it is just as good as the XL probably with lights and crap in the faceplate.

Redneck, you know anything about this radio?
