I dont think its a new model, possibly quite old, it may actually be called a President Grant. It looks alot different than the XL, maybe a plastic case? It is a sideband radio.

The real President Grant was an Export Radio. SupersStar made a Grant and it was also an Export. Uniden made both of these radios. They also made the Grant XL and there is a newer version as well. The Grant XL was the exact same radio as the UNiden built Cobra 148LTD. Uniden also built some early Midland and Radio Shack Radios. Most Uniden built radios had Uniden printed somewhere on the board. You could also tell by the look of the board.

I have one also.I can't remember how long ago i got it but i am thinking late 80's early 90's.I was still using it till I inherited a galaxy 949 and am giving this radio a shot but I would never give up my old freind.
