Cobra 29 LTD Classic

Does anyone own a working Cobra 29 LTD Classic, with the mic coming out the side, they would wish to sell? Mine got stolen, and I want another one. To me, that is the best radio ever built. Please let me know.

too bad that happened to you. also, too bad all i can find are the "front mount" mic, when i google searched for you, nothing came up for the "side mount" mic. but the prices are good, some under $100 on sale.

i don't spend too much anymore these days on c.b.'s. i now have a simple cobra 25 ltd classic i got on sale at the pilot for under $70

Re: Cobra 29 LTD Classic

Yeah, I had that cb from pretty much day one of driving years ago, and wouldn't have taken a pretty penny for it, and someone stole it out of my pickup while I was deer hunting the other day. I don't know why, but those were made in China, and are a lot better than those new ones, made in Taiwan.

So, are the Unidens a better radio, and if so, which one is the best?

Yes! Which is best depends on your needs. If you want the best reciever, best filters and best audio section check out the Grant XL. It is a side band rig and is much better then any of the AM rigs. Even on AM

Re: Cobra 29 LTD Classic

KC,

I have one of those old cobra 29 classics with the mic coming out the side. I bought it probably 13-14 years ago. Is this one of the better "old" uniden ones? If so I should keep it then? I was debating on getting it all cleaned and tuned up, or getting a new one. Its been sitting around in the garage for a few years, and needs a new speaker and a tune up.
