so how do i find out what was done and get it set up the way it belongs? I noticed i don't seam it pick up anything if i hit the dim switch. then when it goes back to bright i hear everyone again. man why cant people be happy with a cb with lsb and usb that's basically like 120 channels is that not enough?

I really just want this thing to get checked to make sure its on frequency. and put back the way it belongs. then have it peaked and tuned the way its supposed to be. I don't want "extra channels" I just want the ones I'm allowed to be on. extras do me no good if i am not allowed to talk on them. I mean sure i am hearing people for over 1000 miles away but I don't care to hear what i cant talk to. so who would you guys recommend i can take this to and get it set up the way it belongs?

If you run out to Ontario Cali then the cb shop behind the west side TA,Chris at the radio shop will do your radio the right way.

If you run the east cost mostly then.....

If you get out to Hebron OH at I70 EX 126 across the the road from the TA truck stop (stay away from the one at the same EX across from the Pilot ) in the truck parts building. Thornville cb shop has all of the equipment to do the job right as well.

They have both done work for me and i trust them with any of my radios. These are the only techs that i have used in the past that know how to set up a radio for top performance on SSB,and that is no lie!

    REMEMBER!!!
When you go into a cb shop and they only have a dosy test meter and a power supply then turn around and walk right back out the door. Look for equipment like signal generators, oscilloscope, dummy loads, multi meters and such,if your not sure then ask them. If they don't have the proper test equipment then you are throwing your money away!

If you ever...ever hear a tech say "oh you don't need all of that stuff to tune a radio" or if they seem to get pissed off if you ask them about what they use or where they learned to work on electronics then walk away!

The guys where i bought the radio had all that stuff and then some. I watched him peak and tune someones 29. But i bought the radio used from them and didnt ask if they did the tune up or it was predone. I was just busy starring in aww of all the test equipment and the waves on the screens and sound generators to make certain pitch sounds and all sorts of stuff. I dont get to see cali much. but i do go though ohio fairly often. we will see where i land.
