Try grounding the antennas, also your cb if they aren't.

How many feet of coax do you have ran and is the extra bundled together and
    tied up?

    Ken Thanks this.

Myself, when my SWRs are high I let them get them right.

The things that I just posted are things I see them do to get them down
to where they should be or the best they will get.

Ken and rocknroll nik Thank this.

Also, firesticks have a metal tip under the rubber tip at the top. There's a set screw in there and you can adjust the length of it thus adjusting your SWRs.

Ken and rocknroll nik Thank this.

I pulled the rubber cap off expecting an adjustment screw but I didn't see one. It looks like it's just epoxy..

Ok, I didn't know if it was factory or not. Sometimes when people do it themselves
they bundle the extra coax up and that is not right. Your supposed to take
the extra and run it back and forth so as not to have it looped up.

    Ken Thanks this.

If swapping back to the OEM mic doesn't fix it, get new coax.

I highly doubt it's the mic, unless you just happened to get a bad one.

That may be some of the problem there Ken, factory coax as a rule isnt that good. I was having nothing but problems with my rig for a while using the factory crap. I bought 12 feet of the clear coax and ran it thru the wing window( I had my episode b4 I could run it right) and my problems started going away. Another thing is to not bunch up your extra coax in a tight loop make it a loose loop and that'll help to. I just wish I coulda bought 18 feet of it and gotten a better ground. My brand new outta the box 29 was pushing 2-3 miles out just the way I had it and that was with one wilson antenna and a stock cobra crap mic.

    Ken Thanks this.
