I just looked at the website for the TA in North Bend. It lists a cb shop.. Maybe I'll give them a call. It's only 70 miles..

    Tips & Warnings
Reading too high? Check the connections and check for damage to the cables or antenna.
To be completely sure your CB radio has the correct SWR, you can use an external SWR meter and take readings on channel 1, channel 19 and channel 40 to be certain that all three readings are below 2.0.
To adjust your CB's SWR ratio, you may need to adjust the length of your antenna.
Using the radio with a ratio higher than 2:1 can damage the radio.

I would go to a single antenna setup. Leave both for looks if you want, but only run coax to one stick (in multiples of 3 ft). It is much easier to get the SWR set lower on one stick versus two.

You might also have a mic that is not wired correctly for your radio.

I got my mic from Clay's. They're supposedly a good shop.. But I know they had to wire it since my radio is a 5-pin..

I'd be 99% willing to bet $1000 that's the problem. I don't think you can convert a 4 pin mic to a 5 pin radio.

When they shipped the mic it had the RK diagram on how the 5-pin should be wired..

Well I had a friend who had the same problem and it was solved with making sure it was grounded on the radio and antennas. It could be other issues but many times its a ground deal. Of course anytime you make an antenna change it best to reset the swr's for best performance. Find a good shop and let them help you out
