I need an opinion here...
I got dual 48" black stick antennas on my mirrors. They are mounted straight up. 2 of my buddies told me I should tilt them FORWARD to about 45 degrees or so.
Performance aside, I am not sure I like that look.
The last thing I need is to look like Billy Big Rigger out here.
Hell, I found a photo of me from 1990. Driving a gawd-awful FreightShaker Blue COE. I had my dirty cowboy boots, ripped leather jeans (no knees) and sporting a nice mullet and black leather jacket.
I swear the only thing I was missing was a big ol' turquoise belt buckle...
so in the interest of not making a jacka$$ out of myself, what to do with the antennas?
Dual 48" fiberglass antennas - tilt forward or?

Uh people tilt metal whip antennas forward so when traveling at hwy speeds, the ant actually stands straight up. Fiberglass whip antennas do not flex backwards at hwy speeds ... so IMHO, people that tilt em forward look like #########.
Hanadarko Thanks this. -
Thats kinda what I was thinking. Metal whips make sense but not fiberglass.

Your radios signal goes out to the side vertically. So when your antennas are tilted your signal is not as effective as mounted straight up. So you'll get less range out of your CB. It's done by someone who really doesn't know anything about CB radios. Or how they work and only know what some other dummy has passed on to them.
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Keep them straight verticle for maximum performance. Tilt forward in my opinion does not do jack#*&%, not to mention they look like s%*#.

The only useful thing tilting them forward allows you to do is stab birds.
