most 29s get about 20watts when depending on what finals they put in them the day that one was made. now some techs such as randy at big O's in indy will replace the finals and get about 50watts out of one. Honestly if I were you I would go to walcott cb on the other side of I-80 from Iowa 80 and get this [IMG]
thus you can then run your own coax and get a really nice antenna without being limited to what fits in the factory slots.

No its not magic, its called a peak meter, which is kind of a lie, not really but close to a lie. RMS wattage is standard, so to make it sound good they use a peak meter, these would be the same techs that do not know how to use a scope for setting your audio. Yes there are better transistors than the stock cobra, you can get rid of the choke and replace the limiter diode. You can also wipe out 40 channels in every direction.

No matter how great you think your getting out all most are doing is interfering with conversations you can not hear. Get it tuned uo by a good shop, get all the clean audio you can. Clean is the key.

Box that 29 up and ship it to Sparkys Cb
Request the RFX Mod and a STDX nc/mic,do a Connex echo w/Talkback

There will be no question of audio clarity either, they ROCK!

    YOU WILL BE HEARD!! :biggrin_25525:

This is not a good location to mount "any" antenna on those plastic
    trucks.

^^And if THAT mount costs more than oh ten bucks, go to homedepot or tractor supply and buy the materials and make a better one yourself, cause that thing looks like a POS. Just my .02.

well i got the cb peaked and tuned, different final in it. out of the box it was pretty poor only putting out 12 watts when the guy got done with it, it was sitting at 45. i have no issues with being heard and from a ways out, actually get compliments on how clear it is. now my only problem is my receive. just like a post above stated, i cant pick up on other conversations if they are a lil ways out there but they can hear me. whats next? a good antenna and coax? my swr on the factory cascadia is about 1.5.

Your radio is only as good as the antenna, A $1000 radio will perform as good or bad as a $20 radio on a junk antenna.

Get a Wilson 2K with the long stem, tune it and be done with it.
Big Performance cost time and money and for a high percentage of drivers,a waste.
