squelch all the way up?
-
Take it to a radio shop and see if the finals are burnt out and if its really worth fixing, you can go to wal mart or even a truck stop and buy the cheap cobra for 30 bucks which would do you a fine job, even midland has radios the same size and price if the radio shack isnt worth fixing, Oh yea check the coax and see if its shorted or broke and also check the antenna to see if its ok, a radio shop or someone thats good with radios and stuff could help you out.
Bjarnold27 Thanks this. -
I would spend any money on it, basically you got what you paid for. If you want a cb radio you can pick up Cobras new very reasonable now days. Not being snide, just honest. Hope it helps.

Yes The Squelch All The Up. And Would 'finals' Be Burnt If I get The Weather Channel?
-
Could be just a protection diode, or something simple, but even a simple repair may very well exceed the value of the radio. -
How is your mic connection? And about the squelch, it has to be turned DOWN. Not up.
-
Well I Have Played With The Squelch To Know Either One Doesnt Work..And Im Pretty Good With Electronics So I May Try To Repair It Myself..If It Doesnt Work Out Then Im Back Where I started Eh?
-
Could you please elaborate on your SWR reading? Are you using an external meter to get your SWR reading? Thank you.
-
No Im Using The One Built into The Cb Itself...and its usally About Half Way On the Meter (IDK What That Means Tho) and move when i press the mic button. also itook a electric current tester and put it in the antenna port and it gets voltage when you press the mic...whether or not that will help..
