Corey, where do these reports come from, the letterheads are confusing names are in different states and cities from fcc,all the info isn't there.I tried to find the complaint sources it originates from and can't find these letters any where on the internet except from nice folks like you putting them in here. Like I have been informed that 2 of your trucks were using 10 meter bands at two different dates and two different trucks,no truck numbers etc, who investigated from fcc,how did they know, how did fcc know if they were fcc lic,ham operators if they did not know these guys names truck numbers etc.just wondering,Im really curious of all this,I only use a cb.

Some of these letter can be found at: [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. . These are just a small sampling of all the letters that can be found on [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. . As is with most Government websites, finding them there can be veru difficult.

HAW! I got lucky and it only took 15 minutes to find it!

From FCC.gov

As to how these guys are found:

There are a number of ways. Mostly Hams who are being interfered with find the transmitter, even mobile transmitters. Write down any info they can get, names on doors, license plate numbers etc. Record the signal that is interfering and send it al to the FCC.

I won't go into the details of transmitter hunting again but will tell you that for many Hams transmitting or Fox hunting is a sport. And they do it very well. So well in fact that finding a big truck driving down the road who is talking is very easy for them.

Here is some good info on transmitter hunting:

Many of these drivers are found during an inspection at a chicken coop (very Rare), traffic stop (also Rare) if the cop knows what he is looking for (A Ham or trained by the FCC, and they are out there).
All US Customs and Border Patrol officers have been trained and have busted many drivers. The FCC has given these people authority to enforce FCC rules.

I hope this will answer some of your questions.

As to different cities and states, These are where the FCC's Field Offices are located.

I really wish the govt worried about something more important. We could save Billions by downsizing these useless organizations. How many 6 figure salaries, and 20 year retirements, are dedicated to chasing people on over sized walkie-talkies....

That is so right, if you/we only knew how much money the Gov't burn it would make us sick. I'm sickend about the amount I know about. Start a forum about that.... maybe not that might lead to riots in DC...
