Double check your antennas and coax befor you buy a new radio, Sounds like yours is doing it's job and allerting you of a bad antenna system. There are many good places to buy a radio but, I have recently bought a few here http://customcbradios.com/Default.aspx and couldn't be more satisfied.

I would second that thought, Cobra 29 is a decent radio and if the red light came on for the ANT it is likely a problem in the antenna assembly, check all your connections to be sure. If you go through Walcott, IA.. Walcott CB can help you out. They do some pretty good work and will stand by it as well

If it's a single phase coax I would try it. Forget the dual phase deal just keep the other antenna there for looks but just run single coax less problems that way:biggrin_25524:

Yea, I just installed a single phase in my truck for my CB, plus it allows you to get a better antenna since you only have to buy one :mwink:

Okay if I were to give advise where to buy one and what type here's my 2 cents. Two choices for buying 1 would be Bells cb I've bought radios from them in the past and they really have great service. 2 GI Joes for price and selection have bought three from them and until recently never had to question their work. Which I will get to in another post. My advise would be if you have a tech you truly trust take it there. As for a radio if you want 40 channel basic radio you can't beat the Cobra 29 rock solid reliability. If you're looking for a ten meter just get a entry level model such as Galaxy 33 or Connex 3300 also very reliable radios without spending big money. Mind you they are not permitted for use without a license however you can fly under the radar if you stay on cb band and not go to the ham bands making trouble. And please ham guys I don't need the lecture I know I get it. But heck he won't be the last one to buy one so why not one more? Anyway would say if you want a store that has great customer service and great tech go to Bell's.

Ok guys thanks for your help I replaced the coax yesterday and it was kinda of a mess. Because of the overhead side panels on my t800 but I. Did it. I gave the cobra away to another driver and now I need a new one. There's a guy that comes around the shop and he gave me these prices 100 for a galaxy 919 140 for a 949 and 150 for a 959 these are brand new and sealed in the box for an extra 20 hell throw in an astatic mic . Are these good deals ? Which one would be the best choice ? Thanks guys for all your help

Those are good prices, About $10.00 cheaper than you can usually find them. IIRC the 919 is the only small chassis radio of what you listed. Do you have room for a big chassis radio? Do you need SSB? Check out a few radios and decide what you need before spending your money on a radio with options useless to you. I'm not recommending you buy or not buy one of these, Check a few out at http://www.sparkyscbshack.com/categories/CB-Radios/ it may help you make a decision.
