Money, and read post #27. You can be fined $7,500 and up for having one. Uncle Sam loves your money.

I love all these guys that are proud to be snitches. They were probably that little dork in school that wanted to the Safety Patrol so they could tattle on kids running in the hall. And then some kid would stick them in the trash can, head first. Wait a seond... are those darn kids on your lawn again? Go get them Paul Blart!

In the modern world it sounds ridiculous to me. If I key down and you can hear me across your toaster? Yeah. That's crazy. But a 60 watt radio on channel 19? I think some rules need to be "reality checked".

Is it snitching? Or just informing you? Snitching would be telling the FCC just what you are doing. Like truck #1 with Super Big Trucking Co is running a 5 watt radio. Now go get him. But reporting what the FCC has done. Well I guess it is snitching on the FCC.

It wouldn't hurt if every CB'er would write the FCC. And let them know that they want the rules changed. Write and call your Senator, and Congressman too. That's how changes begin.

No offense, but, I'm not going to write my congressman about a C.B.. If I write my congressman it'll be about something a great deal more pressing than that.

If you think that's crazy. What about the FCC wants to now limit CB's power to 2 watts. Then a radio will talk to a another truck 1 mile or less. And no more beam (yagi) antennas on 11 meters.

In what way are PUBLIC reports of FCC activities a form of "snitching"? It is public information ON FCC's website that anyone can access.

On the personal level to which you have placed this in regards to individuals, using your own logic, WHAT if I slipped in your house while you were gone on a trip and stole a big screen TV? Are you not going to call the cops to investigate? Are YOU a "snitch" for doing so? Why would it be "snitching" for telling FCC about a CB operator who is operating on 10 Meters and inteferring with a legitimate, licensed operator? Tell me the difference between a person who tells the police about his stolen TV and the licensed operator who is being interferred with by an unauthorized CB operator? In BOTH cases, a crime has been commited. Or does it ONLY apply to YOU when it is something YOU want to do or have been aggrieved?

You steal my TV OR go on "them ham channels" without license, I WILL report it!

Really? You need me to explain the difference? Do you also call the cops when a car goes by with a loud muffler? What about spitters?

Taking something that physically belongs to someone versus driving around identifying drivers... Yeah. Sounds the same to me.
