After two weeks of hair pulling I have finally got my swr problems solved. I purchased a Cobra 29 bluetooth about two weeks ago. I also purchased a roof mount kit and a cheap antenna for the top of my pickup. When i got it all installed my Swr was about 4.5 across the board. I tried running ground wires borrowing other antennas even bought a new cheap antenna magnetic at walmart. All to no avail. The swr remained the same. I even went and bought a swr meter to make sure my radio was reading accurate. I was all set to call Cobra and send the radio in. But I decided to try one last option. I ordered a Wilson 1000 roof mount antenna setup. The UPS man brought it today. I installed it this evening. I noticed an immediate difference. My Swr readings had dropped significantly. It took about two minutes to tune that wilson to the point were I have to look really hard at my meter to even see the needle move. We are talking Swr readings of 1.1 or less across the board. I've been using this forum throughout the whole ordeal in trying to figure out my problems. There is a wealth of info here. I thank you guys for your willingness to share your knowledge and expertice.
