    Hey all,

Been lurking around here for a while and see lots of good info here.

I have been out of the trucking and radio scene for 15 years or so. I have a 148 Cobra and a 250 Palomar that still work very well.

    I have decided on a Magnum S6 or S9 175 for a new radio.

Looking for the best price but, more importantly the best place overall for tech and service.

    THANKS

That's a loaded question. Price I'm sure can be answered but tech you're gonna get a ton of different answers.

I understand that for sure. I have been to a lot of sites on the net and seen some reviews, just nothing real solid yet.

The guy I use doesn't stock radios. He can order anything but the bigger guys get better pricing. But he's the only one I'll let work on my stuff. He's in Indiana I-65 exit 240 at the flying j. HS electronics is the name. I can give you his number if you want he will order it get it setup and mail it if you want.

If you call him, tell him you want the audio crystal clear because most of his cutomers want overmodulated distorted audio. He tuned a Magnum S-9 for me about 5 years ago, and I told him I didn't care about how many watts my radio was pushing, and I had to tell him how to tune it. I told him to set the carrier level to 8 watts, and told him to set the peak at 32 watts. He really didn't want to leave it that way, but after tuning it my way, I went out into the parking lot and asked for a radio check, and everyone said it sounded awesome loud and clear. If he had tuned it his way, it would have been overmodulated.

    KAK Thanks this.
