    Cobra 29 W/RFX75

Anyone else running one ??? I just installed one in the truck yesterday and need to tune my Wilson 1000 in the morning.

Let us know what you like or don't like about this set up.

    Thank you.

So far so good. I was getting out about 10 miles or so with it today on I-10. Good reports, everyone I talked to said it sounds very clear.

Well if you don't twist the echo knobs too far to the right, it helps the sound, some people would argue it doesn't.....different strokes......

Personally, I would not put a Connex board in a radio again, I'd just buy the Connex and be done with it.

I had a cobra 29lx with a rfx75. Dead key at 15w pep at 100w. It was great as long as I wasn't long winded. The rfx75 itself would get extremely hot...almost too hot to touch, so be careful where you stick the radio at.

I now have a Mirage MX-36hp, and it is the difference between night and day. I'm clearer, louder, and get out farther with 65w than I ever did with the 100w cobra/rfx Frankenstein.

I have it mounted from the ceiling using a aluminum bracket that I fabricated. It gets plenty of air movement up there. I have noticed the heat sink getting warm but not so hot that I can't touch it when I'm long winded.

Did you change your coax and antenna set up when you switched to the Mirage MX-36HP ???

Thanks for the information. I don't get why people use echo, I think it sounds terrible. It seems like I'm always asking drivers to turn the echo down so I can understand them.

Echo set right sounds good. But the fact is most drivers set it to high, (mostly way too high) thus the dislike for it by many.
