Probably get more "Bang for your Buck" going this route...

As for that radio listed on eBay...I have a real problem shelling out Big Bucks for radios sold on eBay...Been burned too many times...Thats not a bad price for a Cobra 29lx Chrome with a RFX 75 tho...Question is, will the seller back up his work if there's a problem...

Think I would check around some of the Internet shops that back their work...

    Check out:
    Rolling Radios
    Custom CB Radio
    Sparkys CB
    R&R Communications
    GI Joe's CB

I have bought from these shops over the years and never once had any kind of problems with the radios or their work done on them (P&T)

I currently run a lx that's puttin out 10watt dead key and about 75 watts max. Swamp dog at exit 42 on I-40 in the train caboose fixed mine up for me

A few on your list are considered hacks by some people.

A CB shop in a caboose sounds pretty cool. With numbers like that I assume he installed the RFX-75?

Yep...Just go's to show, ya can't please everyone!

Like I said, I personally have never had a problem with purchases from these shops...There's a few others to that I have bought from with no problems but the ones I listed are the most recent...

how do you hook up the amp?? my company isn't strict on electrical products outside of having them hook up an inverter over 400 watts to the battery. Really i just want something to get out about 5 miles, i got a Cobra 25 Nightwatch that DTB in Carlisle Peaked & Tune with dual hustler center loads and been able to get at least 3 miles on Ch. 19..
I guess i might just check out DTB's Cobra 29lx and just stay that route.. but thanks for the info guys

XForce makes a small amp called MF200. This is a class AB mosfet amp and a high drive. The reasons I suggest this to you are:
You bought a radio from DTB. That means it's a high carrier radio. This amp can deal with that and still sound good.
This amp with your 25 (or the 29) will only put out about 100-125w, therefore amp draw is only 12-15a. It also has 3 stage power level and receive amplifier.
Dave at DTB is a nice guy but I don't think he deals in amps. If you choose that route and need advice hooking it up feel free to call me.

Actually, Ive been dealing with amps for over 20 years, both AB1 and class C. I prefer AB1 by a long shot, though.
