I dunno...all the fines I've found on google seem to be just idiots going on there and stirring up trouble. Or some that have no understanding of a warning they have been given. I seriously doubt the FCC is driving around looking for these guys more like Hams out there with there playing radio cop and turning them in, And I get it I stay off your bands I know not to be there and just listen from time to time but never transmit so calm down Hammers. I still can't understand how one would obtain a license that would allow someone from the government to just walk in your house without a warrant and inspect your station and you not being able to say anything about it? Not something I would be proud to be part of...talk about big brother keeping you under his thumb. No thanks guys it's all yours...enjoy:biggrin_2559: When export radios are outlawed I guess only outlaws will have them

What a pack of lies. No legal authority to confiscate trucks or the load exists with the FCC. Next whopper using a power bill to prove in court the excess power went into an amplifier. Especially if the defendant claims they turned on their nuclear powered rat zapper while they talked on their legal radio. What discipline does the puppy get if it lies like a dog?

Complaints are met with a letter from the FCC to the violator. Sometimes.

Someone's been watching way too many action moves.

Where's the proof for this outlandish claim? Name of the company? Got a link?

Hey if I'm playing my Les Paul through my my Marshall stack and talking on my radio you mean I could get fined $10,000? Just because the FCC said I had a usage spike about the same time? I would like to see them prove that in court...it's funny how these laws are from a time when Hitler was coming to power and killing millions of jews in Europe and they haven't amended any of these from almost 80 years ago. What a waste of tax dollars the FCC is...that money can be better spent helping our homeless and starving children or how about helping our veterans find a job or housing. No but we need to find a trucker that's talking on an obsolete means of communication that is used to say hello to some native in a hut in Guam that is still looking out for the Imperial Navy of Japan from a coconut tree and he's pissed because the driver talked on his important frequency and he wants to run him down and report him. So he can feel important by getting him busted...sad really sad

This place is really starting to look more like "Romper Room" everyday...

FCC confiscating Trucks and loads because someone was on a channel they shouldn't have been?

    ...give me a break...

That's simply because you are not understanding the Rules governing radio. How many of us have ever actually READ Part 95 of the US Code?

As a CB operator (or any other user of radio) you are voluntarily agreeing to abide by the rules governing your actions (again, Part 95). Your use of the radio to place a signal out there is a voluntary one, a privilege granted under our laws; it is NOT a "right". Ignorance of the law is not admissable in court. SO. If you actually READ the rules governing CB radio, you will find that the moment you pick up a mike and transmit, you are AGREEING to ALL the rules as presented in US Code, and that includes allowing your station to be inspected. It does NOT mean that the FCC agent can force his way into your house; it has NEVER said or meant that. What it DOES mean is, you CAN refuse to allow the agent in..................but if you do, you will be cited for the failure to permit inspection of a radio station under the laws of the United States. And often the fine will be worse than the consequences would have been if you had just permitted the agent to inspect your station to begin with! It is NOT about searching your house in the way it implies; a full search as in looking for drugs, rambling thru your things, etc. The agent is looking for illegal amps, export radios, modified equipment that outside instruments have indicated is causing an illegal signal to be placed on the air. In truth, it is TWO different things insofar as a search for criminal activity or evidence is concerned. They are looking for things pertaining to RADIO and any non-legal activity that is (or may be) causing interference to legitimate communications. He must be able to "catch" the perp (he already knows its going on due to the results that are causing the 'attention' from the Feds. You do NOT HAVE to use a radio: that has nothing to do with "free speech". Thus, the laws are set up regarding radio to be able to respond to complaints, else radio would be useless to users due to interference, reckless operation, and destruction of commerce.

This is why it is set up so that agents can REQUEST to inspect....NOT your house.....but the RADIO station itself. It is the REFUSAL to permit it that causes a fine, and it has nothing to do with normal search and seizure laws and "warrants".

"Export" radios are already "illegal" for CB to begin with and are against the law for 11 meters already.

    jessejamesdallas,

I would like to ask you a question unrelated to this board, but it seems you have chosen not to receive PM's...suggestions?
