And that's probably where ham ops and some CB ops get a bad rap by those not in the know...if I had TVI causing issues due to my gear, I'd at least try to resolve the issue, but as I've heard too many times, a ham or CB's gear bleeds into someone's phones, TV, etc. but the station op refuses to do anything about it and doesn't care....yet you call the FCC and they don't care either...????

He is lying again as usual. No trucks have ever been confiscated due to illegal radio use.
Now I can believe the confiscation of radio equipment.
But the FCC does not have and never has had the authority to confiscate ANYTHING but radio equipment.Big_m Thanks this. -

I'm not saying I'm proud of the fact, but I had the felony conviction before getting my license and never heard a peep about it. -

Oh, I know, it is because SOME hams are self proclaimed radio police.
As far as your arguments about the same as someone breaking in a truck, lets compare apple to apples and not apples to oranges.
Radio frequencies are not personal property!
You did not BUY the frequency. You just have a license to operate on that frequency much like a license to operate on the highways.
Now if you want to compare unlicensed use of the frequencies to unlicensed operators on the highways then you would be correct.
But here is the deal, Hams are not the police just like I am not a law officer on the highways.
Hams running down operators on the frequencies would be about the same as me chasing down idiots on the highways and demanding to see if they have a drivers license.
Now don't get me wrong, if someone sees someone driving in a dangerous manor that might cause harm to others on the road then it is in our right or duty to call 911.
Now there is very little danger if someone gets on a ham frequency.
Now if someone gets on an official frequency then the officials using that frequency will take care of the problem.
Not a radio related topic but it kinda matches what some of the hams whine about.
Yesterday I was sitting in a small truck stop on the north edge of I29 in North Dakota. There was a young guy sitting there talking about how he was hauling a small tractor for money on his trailer behind his pickup. Now he had no DOT numbers, no carrier numbers, no ifta, no nothing. Not even a CDL of any sort.
Just a regular drivers license, a 3/4 ton pickup and a trailer. He was hauling a 60,000 dollar tractor for money or in commerce. Now illegal??? yeap. Did I care???? Nope. My only worry was him possibly getting in trouble with DOT etc. Well the other worry was his equipment. Pickup was too small for the load as was the trailer. Neither were built for hulaing what he was hauling and from were he was hauling it. From Washington to North Dakota then to Canada. Well the equipment got the best of him since he had to hire a company to finish the run since he blew his transfer case near Fargo.
But anyway, I have to run. I have some Coax that needs work, Bad connector on one end along with it needing to be shortened a bit to get ride of a crack in the outer sheathing out near the bad connector. Also need to pull my antenna and mount down and clean up the corrosion. -
As for danger the problem is once you lose control any legal use will soon become difficult if not impossible .... people who freeband don't CARE about others rights ....
I don't care what people do OUTSIDE the ham bands ..... That's up to those licenses to protect not me .... -
Since that portion of the band is a cw portion how are you going to TALK to them? Break the law yourself? Or send the a CW message?

You said: "The CW guys fox hunted them, got their license plate numbers, turned them into the FCC. The FCC was sitting at the power plant when they pulled in to dump their load of coal and busted them for violating the communications act of 1934. Confiscated both trucks and wrote the trucking company a $18,000 fine."
Yes I'd like to see where their (FCC) Confiscated both trucks and fined the company $18,000.
Please give us the forfeiture order issued by the FCC.
