O she let him know ......

Then asked him when he was going to upgrade .....

5 YEARS later he is STILL a tech .....

In 30+ years of being married to her I KNOW BETTER than to question how smart she is ...

This is us 31 years ago when we were engaged she looks the same but that old man she hangs out with now :biggrin_25513:

Best way to study for your license is to get a copy of the question pool and the right answers. That is what you need to study! If you momorize those, then you will have no problem.

The websites that I posted have all of the correct Q&A's. I seen many Hams pass their test using these sites these sites every month. I'm a VE with ARRL & LARC VEC.

The best way is to actually learn the theory so it can be put into practical use, memorizing will get you a ticket but may not help you later when a problem arises.

This is true....however, to pass the tests, my way is the best way. I never said he shouldn't learn the craft! All I was refering to was passing the tests.

    AGAIN ........

You show you don't know anything about HAM RADIO ..

1ST She can and does use the radios here when she wants ..... when she got her 1st license she was on 2 meters and checked into a YL net ...

SHE DOES NOT NEED HER GENERAL CLASS TO USE 2 METERS ....

Your comments are in line with your need to put down others and try to make your sorry tail some how look better than others on this forum....

    AS FOR ELEMERING ......

On our 1st date 33 years ago she got to use my ICOM IC-230 and had a intrest in ham radio and enjoyed lissening to it for 25 years until that night when she decided to show a big mouth up ....

SHE would go to AES ORLANDO with me and was behind my buying a VX2 which she liked and still does .... it's small and would fit in her purse ....

SHE is not a talker but UNLIKE SOME PEOPLE has her general class to use when she sees fit .....

" Gee - I have a Ten Tec Orion sitting here on the floor that I haven't even turned on yet and it has been sitting here for a month.
Sure makes a nice coffee table "

What is that supose to meen ? :biggrin_25513:
I don't like TEN-Tec if I was going to spend $2,000 or more on a radio it would be a Eleccraft K3 with the 2 meter conveter ...

Now go back to cut and paste .......

CJ you need to check some things out .......

" Your priveledge are limited - everything 6 meters and above - I think " And you have a license ?????? did you find it in a box of cracker jax ?

    more garbarge ......

" By looking at the QRZ list of expired licenses, you can usually determine which VE test sessions were failures. "

WHAT :biggrin_2556: explane that PLEASE .......

" talk about the way things were 20 years ago or 30 years ago when they got their licenses."

    Yea people like ME .....

This is the best one yet .......

" If you look at their call sign and only see maybe 600 look ups - you know they were never an active ham "

HELLO ..... earth to Channel Jumper .....:biggrin_25510: if your a active 2 meter or 440 mhz user you might not have more than 200 lookups.

I Know untill I became active on HF checking into hurricane nets and such things mine was below 1,000 even after 30 years ..... then it started to go up ......

MANY stations have 200,000 or more look ups contesters have as many as 500,000 ....

I've been licensed since 1997 and started driving in 2002. I have operated From 1800kc to 29.7mc on HF and V/UHF as well. I currently run 10 and 12 meters along with D-Star and APRS. Look me up at w7mgr-14 either findu or aprs.fi.

Getting back into trucking. I'm a General Class. I have an Icom 706 MKIIG in a box under my desk that is just ITCHING to get set up again. I got my license in the late 90's as a Tech Plus, then upgraded to General on a whim. I have not been on much lately. I was a storm spotter for a small town in NE Texas until we moved to Mobile, Al. They don't encourage mobile storm spotting here. So I disassembled my spotter vehicle and made it "civilian" again at my family's request.

I'm new to HF, and would be interested in hearing some of you "established" guys as to what antenna/antenna tuner/radio set up you are running.

    Peace, & 73's!!

HF can be fun, even in a truck.

I would go to http://www.k0bg.com/ and check it out. Pretty good info.

Right now everything's in the pickup, parked my truck a few years back. I went from tarheel to scorpion screwdriver antenna, there seems to be a difference - big one - but at that same time I also replaced the coax, reworked the power and had the radio fixed (it was giving me fits) - IC7000.
