Well thanks for that very interesting lesson....but I'll answer the question he asked. Some of the drivers I know have had some work done there and they haven't said anything negetive about his work nor I have not heard anything bad from other local drivers. I go by there quite often going to stop in and check the place out.

What do you have for an antenna? What kind of truck do you drive? Coax? We'll start there and would just peak and tune radio unless you want to send it out I know someone good to send it to. Have all my radios done there and is no other for me...my radios reach out and touch peoples.

i'm driving a 379, the antennas are whatever is on the truck...and not to sound like a complete tool box but im not entirely sure what a coax is.

Okay 379 is a good truck to start with....made of metal not plastic and fiberglass. Coax is what connects radio to antenna flexible sheilded wire can get it at any truckstop. Alright.....I would guess the coax and antenna are old on that truck so I would start out by changing the coax...if you have two antennas on there will need a co-phased coax which means will have single connecter on radio end and it splits into two on other...one for each side. I don't use co-phased never liked it and only need one, anyway you can leave one on driver side just for looks. Try this first and will try to save you some money. Go to the T/A or pilot at exit 6 and get a single 18 foot coax and a Francis 4 1/2 foot antenna they are pretuned so you won't have to worry about messing with SWR's and I'll explain SWR's later if it's a problem but don't think it will be. Should only be about $40.00 to fix. And maybe have to change antenna bracket as long as you can disconnect coax from old bracket will be okay. They get dirty and should be cleaned from time to time you know all the salt and stuff we throw on the roads up here. See the problem with most company trucks they come with cheap coax and even cheaper antennas so if you can just get rid of that and start new and better quality will be so much better in the long run. If I was closer would come and do it for you but two hour ride plus from here:biggrin_2556:
