Ok did you rotate the squelch control to see if it was set too high ...... turn it all the way both ways with the volume about 1/3up ...

Is the radio in the CB mode and not PA mode ?

TRUST ME ... I have lost a few hairs doing these things .....

Oh yeah, and make sure the plastic looking washer is on TOP of the antenna bracket. It goes between the bracket and the stud that the antenna screws into, not on the bottom side where the coax connects.

I'm retiring soon......wonder if there is any money in setting up a "cb school"??????? Could just do a "You Tube" video I guess.......probably won't though..........now there is an idea.......set up a web site you have to pay to enter to get video and instructions to all your CB questions.........

Lol, that's funny. People pay good money to get a radio hacked to pieces, I bet they would pay for that too.

well with all the questions about how to install a radio, mount antennas, check swr, adjust the knobs, cb slang...........you never know!

btw, Never had a CB hacked to pieces. Of course I'm smart enough to not let just anybody take the covers off. Knowing several good techs, the blanket comments on here reflecting negatively on all CB shops is really disturbing! Are there some hacks out there? Unfortunately yes, way too many. But reading on here you would sometimes be lead to believe all CB shops are bad. Stereotypes are never good in any area of life. They mostly reflect poorly on those who make them......just sayin'.

P.S. Just remembered, had one radio hacked. A HAM friend of mine, and a neighbor ,ran a CB shop for years around here. He was a big time ham guy, yard looked like a antenna farm, car like porcupine, real big in the local ham club. He couldn't fix #$%%. When he sold his shop, he left about 40 radios behind in the "non-repairable/parts" box. The tech who took over fixed all but one or two of them and spent less than 30 minutes doing it on each one, sold them, and never had one come back!!! This guy sure impressed the average CB guy though......he is gone now and I won't reveal who he was, so don't ask.....FWIW

(and yes the good tech that took over is still around......!)
