Never fails........Guy asks a question about a CB, and the next thing you know it's a ham radio discussion....with pictures even!

How do you know that was not my CB radio ? 11 meters was covered on both it was a HAM band in the 50's ....

It don't look like any CB I've ever seen.....and you always say if doesn't meet part 95? blah blah blah....... that it isn't a "CB" (see I'm learning....lol)

My dad had an old CB from one of his trucks over in the garage. It was an older model with only 23 channels. I'm going to dig it out, but I found a pic online of what I believe it is.



Is there any reason this couldn't work for me with the right antenna and coax?

Sure...if it works, I'd say plug it up and use it as is. if it dies, no big deal.

Thats a old cybernet ( hygain ) radio I tossed many into the trash .....You can buy a midland for $35 with 40 ch...

BTW ......

They convert nicely to 10 meter AM but no one uses AM on 10 meters anymore ..... thats why I tossed the ones I had .....

Cybernet was a manufacturer of CB for many different companies here in the USA and oversees.. There is still AM on 10M, check 29-29.2 MHz for amateur license holders and 28-28.4 MHz for lost CB'ers/freebanders.

I have 29.600 on when I'm here nice group of people .....
