He passed the test and went home. I dropped in just to say howdy. Got a Magnum Delta Force he worked on. Sure miss him. I was told that by a waitress. I didn't bother to look.

FG Best has been gone for quite a few years now. The head radio tech was a guy named Bill Good, and it seemed all of us in CB/Ham in SoCal radio had a rig that he worked on at one time. Dude was good. Nice fellow and really knew his radios. Sadly, he passed away in '04 to cancer. They tried keepin it going but they were OUB inside of a year. RIP FG BEST

Yep its called Viking radio shop and its behind the Three Sisters truck stop on the right pass the bridge over the freeway. I was just there and bought a Cobra 29 LTD classic. They set up my antenna too. They're nice guys and I recommend them if you're in the area and need a new radio or one fixed. Tell them Robert sent you the guy they thought was FCC LOL

If you like lots of static in your receive, Chris Holland is the technician to do the work. If you want to hear a 4 watt radio 30 miles away, talk to Ron @ CB Radio Store in Fontana or Google Hard drive @ Fine Tune CB Shop. Those are the only two guys in the country to drop the noise floor of a radio below 1/1000th of a microvolt

Bill did know his stuff. That guy could make any radio sound like a million bucks. Sorry to hear of his passing. I wasn't a driver when I met Bill. There was a whole group of us in the 90's that used to talk side band there in So Cal. I had a linear and 4 diff radios worked on by him and always got compliments on each one. I eventually sold em all. I started driving a few years ago and got a RCI 2950 for my truck. I was wondering if he was still doing work or not as I wanted to take it in and another radio in and get em some bench time. Thanks for the referral to the CB shop. I will check em out later this week.

We've recently learned that Hard Drive is only selling new radios and not doing any bench work. So that leaves Ron.

Is he still around? Is this him?:
