other than a bunch of chrome, it ain't so special to warrant a purchase. it'll still only put out the maximum wattage as per the FCC. then you will always risk the danger of scratching that chrome, which i would think is "plastic chrome", or at least a very cheapo metal, just enough to even allow itself to be chromed.

nope, i'm into spending my money for more un-important things like food, the mortgage, bills, etc, etc.

a person would be "smarter" to spend the money on a Galaxy or Connex, or some other higher output radio than a cobra, that would need to be modified to match any of the above for power.

gotta think, what's more important, looks, or power...........

but, i don't play that game no mo'...............you can though..........

Who said anything about power? Heck throw a linear behind it, and its on the same page! Take a look at power to decibel charts, and you dont gain much by going to a galaxy, or connex, unless you go with a 4600turbo, etc. Takes double the power to gain 3decibels, and so on. Ditch the mr goofy antennas, and the cb butcher shops, and set it up right. Does alot better. PS, easier to understand a person when there is no echo to deal with.

first and foremost, many trucking companies do not allow a driver to use a linear. it can affect the electronics of the vehicle, and the satelite system as well. as for the "echo" i too hate the way over-doneness some guys have it set-up. i used to keep mine off all the time when i had my galaxy.

a driver should ask for "permission" to use a linear in his COMPANY truck. if he'she is an owner-operator, then do as you wish with YOUR truck.

Most companies that dont allow linears wont allow the big galaxys or connexs anyways. Only difference, those who would snitch on them dont have a clue whats legal and not. Our company forbids the use of any illegal radio equipment, radios and linears. Its our repair shops that go thru and snoop for the stuff. They know to look for a linear or an oversized power inverter, but to them, a galaxy 99 looks the same as a 959. Heck they do good to figure out metric to sae, lol.

Ok heres an update. I laid my eyes on one, ok bout 5 of them at a cb shop in west memphis, ar this eve. I figured the blue lighting was a walcott thing, but appears thats how they come. Pretty shiney chrome. They are wanting 145 a pop for one. I didnt get one, as I just grabbed a 148, but they look nice at least. Looks liek a fingerprint magnet!
