I have a Connex 3300hp-zx radio. Does anyone know of any sources or books available on how to use it? Not the owners manual because that tells absolutely nothing. I want to know what the difference between the FM and AM selector is, and what bands the BAND selector works on (D/A E/B F/C selector), and what the BAND HI/LO selector does. Again, my question is not whether this is a legal radio, but does anyone know of any sources or books available on how to use this radio.

I spin the band knob and never hear a thing. some times on the lsb I hear stuff on 38 LSB but they never respond to me .??

Mt. Airy,
If you are not getting any responses on 38 LSB, you need to have your system looked at and checked. You haven't given any details about your setup. Most any day of the week, you should be able to talk/hear someone on 38 LSB. If not, something may be wrong with your eq. -
My frequency knob has DA, EB, and FC and the radio has a HI and LO band switch. What frequencies are each of these settings?

My radio has a band knob with D/A, E/B, and F/C and then it has a HI or LO band switch. Does the radio use bands A, B and C with the Band switch on LO and D, E, and F with the Band switch on HI? What frequencies are each of these bands? My red wire has been removed. When you say 38 LSB is that CB channel 38 on lower side band?

here is a band chart. If you are trying to talk on sideband, be sure you have your echo turned off. I have found most of these radios are not properly aligned when they are converted for use on 11 meters. Many times they will make the conversion for 11 meters, fairly simple, and never re-align the receive to 11 meters. These are great radios when properly set up.
