Galaxy 959 DX Flamethrower....Worth $320.00 or no?

And that is good advice!......Unless you want the channels, then pick up a used Galaxy and have a good tech go thru it........

 

I haven't found a single reputable source that thinks that this so-called "Flamethrower" is anything more than "snake oil."

The classic radios I would buy off eBay but that flame thrower seems to be just another galaxy that yep has the dim frequency counter all jacked up both in price and maybe performance.

 

I own a galaxy 959. ( not "the flamethrower") not a bad radio but like my connex hp3300 better. I do miss the sodeband. Save your money and buy a stock 959 if that is what you want. Waste of money to own the all show and no go "flamethrower" it might perform a little better than a stock 1 but not 100's of dollars better

 

This is a big ripoff. If you buy a new dx 959, then have a real shop do a by the book alignment like I just did to mine, it will sound like a million bucks.

owning a 959,i'd never recommend anyone buying any 959. they are not a typical galaxy.heck,i'd rather run my 33 any day as opposed to the 959. thankfully,my 99 is mounted and doing it's thing.I have an older cobra 29 that i prefer over the 959.

to each his own but you asked for advice and you are getting the spectrum.
