So Mke GAVE you a radio? Wonder why you like him? PLUS he forgot this and that like the "superhackpack by whackos.(yeah I know this post is old BUT hes still up to his old BS and crap) Mike is a child I wont go into what hes done to me. but hes is the biggest liar in superhackpack class.
His excuses when everything is so late? He was building a home for habitat for humanity with Jimmy Carter. I think the title for the movie "ONE FLEW OVER THE COO COOS NEST"came from Michael himself. Truth be told He actually believes his own BS hes been throwing all these years. He just doesnt know the difference anymore. His work is crap on radios PERIOD. Every once in a while he'll screw up and get one radio half right MAYBE. WHY this exemplary poor excuse of a radio technician is still allowed to carry one in this business is the states fault LOL. Of course he might be giving away more radios right out of the box so they work well !!!!!!!!!

SUPER HACK PACK MIKE peace yall You want great radio work I tried a guy out in PA .Sent the radio on a Tuesday PM. I got the radio back on Tuesday PM the next week and was impeccable. Write me, Ill give you his number etc His names Allen.

No, my mom bought me the radio as a christmas gift in 2007. You can say what you want about Mike, but to this day many people have bought radios from him because they heard mine. My friend told me yesterday that he was getting out of trucking and I tried to buy his because he bought it from Mike. I wouldn't know Mike if he introduced himself, all I know is my radio gets compliments constantly and I wouldn't sell it. Its an old Lee with the 1969s, does about 45 watts, and when I put my 2x4 blade built amp with it, its probably the loudest radio you ever heard

I have an AR3500 that Bob sold originally, and I recently had him go through it and restore it to the way it was new. Its an awesome radio. This is the first true 10m "export" radio that drove the FCC crazy.

Does anyone on the forum here live anywhere close to Bob's CB located at 21232 U.S. 322, Strattanville, PA 16258???? He is off exit 80 off of I-80 I think. The reason I ask is I called them a week or two ago about working on my AR-3500 100 watt radio and they said no problem but they don't take any mail in radios now. They will mail it back to me but I would have to find someone that could drop it off for me at the shop in person. Bob is (in my opinion only) the best their is to work on the AR's since he did a lot of the original warranty work on these radio's. Mine is in excellent shape but it needs some attention since I plan on keeping this one along time. So if you are willing to let me mail you my radio and then drop it off at Bob's just PM me on here or email me at kb4not@gmail.com and we can work out the details.

Bob is a great guy and you are right back in the day he did the work for Clear Channel on the AR-3500. In the last 10 years there are two guys that do work for most of the manufactures now. Don in erie (private contractor not a retail shop but does do repair and sell parts for anyone) and Chip in California (Ranger's Tech and is contracted by Ranger to do there R&D and repairs also repairs for most of the shops in the country as well as end users also not a retail shop) Here are there contact numbers Don 814-898-1046..... and Chip 760-440-0125.

Long story short, after hearing all of the negative experiences by many here and understanding it's the internet and wanting to make up my own mind since I was looking to upgrade, I struck a deal with the owner and purchased an HP40. I was quite skeptical however on all this superwhackpack and such and didn't necessarily wish to pay for this kind of stuff. We talked at great lengths about radios, and cb shops and reputations, etc.
In the end I agreed to buy this radio for a fair price of $280 and he would throw in every single mod he could do to this radio for free on the notion I would be so pleased that the word of mouth praise I would give him would be well worth it.
After waiting a ridiculous amount of time for the radio so it could be checked and rechecked by everyone and their brother and be worthy of his so called lifetime warranty on workmanship.
Needless to say I was skeptical but willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and perhaps be pleasantly surprised. Well I was surprised alright. Surprised that he would ship a radio out that was, according to him, given the final seal of approval by so many people yet was so defective on the simplest of levels. It didn't work! I mean it had absolutely no sound whatsoever coming out of the speaker. Internal or external. 6 weeks after paying for this radio, I finally got it and installed it only to find out I couldn't hear #### out of it and would have to return it and wait God knows how long to get it back again.
Now I have a perfectly fine General Lee that this HP40 was to replace and I just can't bring myself to return the defective radio to this guy to get fixed. I know it doesn't make sense not to since it's most likely the only way to ever have it working without dropping God only knows how much cash to get fixed anywhere else. I asked for my money back being so disgusted but he wants but he thinks it's his God given right to be given the chance to correct the issue. This may or may not be the appropriate thing to do but bottom line I just don't care to give him the time of day after what I see as a fundamental mistake. Turn the #### thing on one final time after so many hands have been in it to at least make sure it works before just prior to packing it up for shipment! I mean come on. Don't blame the fed ex guy. It was packed so well and soo tight it could have been air dropped from 50,000 feet and survived intact.
Perhaps someone here can shed some light on what he could have possibly done during the course of "doing what he does" to these radios that maybe I could fix it or point someone in the right direction to do so for me without it costing me another small fortune. It receives as in the needle moves indicating such. I just get absolutely no sound at all out of either speaker. Built in or external. Thoughts? Anyone familiar with what he does have any insight as to where he could've gone wrong?
Or maybe perhaps someone with the know how to fix it would like to make an offer?
I'd like the radio in working order but short of that a kicker for my General Lee would be nice too.

Well in my experience with them... first shot would be to see if there's half a grilled cheese sandwhich inside.

Seriously though... I NEVER do more than one mod at a time, for just the reason you are describing. He did so many changes it would be of no help to guess at what's wrong.

Please reconsider returning the radio. Don't let him get over on you son easily. He gave you a headache... Give him one. At least get it functioning then bring it to a recommended shop for upgrades.

And yes this is the internet... And primarily a forum for and about truckers... But I am continuously impressed with the knowledge out here, Sometimes you gotta go with your gut but I have found the people here very knowldegable and responsible when giving advice and info. One of the best CB forums on the net.
