Letters... that's all it is... letters... I don't see how you don't understand this. nobody is scared of the FCC or any other ham operators.

Ok, so if you aren't on a channel other than 1-40 then theoretically there won't be any issues?

As long as you stay on the allotted 40 channels that have been assigned to the CB band, you will most likely not have any trouble.

I say "most likely" because there's no 100% guarantee that someone won't see an export radio in your rig and not make a stink about it. Otherwise you will be fine.

However it's usually when people decide to flip the band switch and go off of the allotted 40 channels that trouble starts.

Quite frankly, I wonder if you could just have the band switch removed all together on an export and just have the converted CB band hard wired so that it's not possible to flip that switch and get yourself on "tham thar extree channels"....?

Hey Gadfly, guess what, I just went a whole band up channels higher and said "hello". I just figured I would let you know since you are the self proclaimed CB police.

"In three of the cases, the frequency involved was 28.085 MHz--in the CW band--while the other two cases cited transmissions on 28.215 MHz and 28.315 MHz"

I have heard them on 28.535 mhz also ....

You would think that with 120 ch on even the simplest converted CB that would be enough. But some just think if i have it i have a right to use it ......

The FCC is the problem unless they can enforce the laws they have nothing will ever change ...

"And I'll be ###### before I let ANYONE tell me what channels I can and cannot operate on."

I heard that. Silliest dang thing I ever seen and heard. Just more government control. When is the FCC going to pull some of the garbage off of TV that thousands of kids get exposed to everyday messing up their minds? That is what I would like to see them go after. :biggrin_25516:

I don't agree with that. If you don't want your kids watching something on tv then don't let them.

I'll be ###### if I let anyone tell me what i can or cannot watch on tv! :biggrin_25525:

    orion3814 Thanks this.

Well we can't always stay right in top of them. Impossible. Half the stuff on TV is trash anyway.

I did not say for the FCC to control what you watch anyway. I said they need to control what gets put out there. You can't miss something you never saw.
