Hey guys! we recently just got a new Cobra 29 wx nw BT. ya, its got bluetooth! However I'm having a little trouble. when my phone is off and I'm using the CB to talk with another CB its fine, when my phone is on and connected my bluetooth works fine. the problem is.. when I have my phone connected to it, I can use bluetooth and I can talk over the CB but I cant hear anything back!!? we tested it and everyone can hear me but I cant receive anything over the CB. but the bluetooth works fine.

so do I have to disconnect my phone every time I want to use the CB function? cause that seems..... inconvenient..

    any advice??

Merely being paired with the BT shouldn't disable CB RX, but if your phone is actively on a call, it should. Once you're off-hook with phone, it takes precedence in the radio until you hang up the call. I don't know if it's just a matter of their reluctance to try to manage differing incoming volume levels simultaneously through your radio's RX circuitry. Since volume is likely to vary on an AM radio depending upon received signal strength, but not so much with the phone, I suspect that's why.
I've got one of those, too, but I'm one of those classic mono-taskers who can't drive & talk full duplex (like on a phone) well at all. (I'm lucky if I can walk and pass gas at the same time. Those nearby, however, are not so lucky when I do.)
It's apparently because my mind is still trying to process both sides of a phone call at the same time, as opposed to PTT, where it's talk or listen and easy enough to turn down the volume or just unkey if the road needs my attention.
That seems to jibe with recent research, too. So the Cobra will at least allow for sorta-hands-free phone use, depending upon where you hang your mic, but it won't let you jockey a phone call simultaneously with a radio conversation.
I'm not sure if your final question's use of the term "disconnect my phone" refers to "unpair" or "hang up".
Dunno if I presented that clearly.

nah wouldn't expect to be able to be talking on the phone and the CB at the same time.

but if my phone is connected to the bluetooth, I can't receive anything from the CB. all outgoing, phone and CB works.but in order for me to talk on the CB and hear other people, I have to disconnect my phone from the bluetooth

I may have misunderstood your OP. If the CB's receive fails as soon as your phone is paired under BT, something in the CB's brain has gone into the ca-ca mode (technical term). If it's new, I'd see about getting it swapped out under warranty.
