In the construction industry they are strong as ever we could not function with out them. all the trucks have them and most pieces if equipment as well. lot of good times still to be had on the radio we laugh our butts off and use it for work

I've noticed the can haulers to be the most chatty on the radio. I guess they see each other every day at the rail yard and know each other well enough to keep up the banter out on the road.

And what happens when you get a lovely almost $3,000 ticket for using your phone while driving? You really going to trust an "app" to be accurate on traffic? I'll take the "extra piece of junk" CB over a stupid phone that needs to be charged any day.

There have been times when my hubby could have saved someone some truck damage or being stopped for an inspection because of truck issues (lights not working, tire issue, etc). I was just out with him for a week, and the lack of response on the CB was disgusting. Your smart phone apps aren't going to tell you that your tail lights are doing their own flashing on one side only, or that your mud flap is only half connected, or some other issue that another driver could tell you.

I run local and we all run radios in our trucks....atleast a majority of us in this region. And its always busy , bear reports, trash talkin (in good fun), just talks to make the day go by. I give bear reports because as stated, you may not be speeding , but you can be pulled over for something else. Also nice to know if theres one down at the bottom of a hill by say , marker 99 , gives you time to move over to the other lane instead of just jerkin to the left real quick...

Well when you hear them on the radio, or see them in the truck stop, some of them would be more accurately described as the "The New In-Breed"!:biggrin_25511:
