Even more cause to question how well that radio is at transmitting then. They are not known to be the best talkers. Oh and my General isn't stock either but nothing too radical as to affect sound quality either. If I want a big boost I'll run a kicker tho before I let anyone butcher it.
Not all wattage is put to good use. Some radios are better at it than others. From what I've learned, Strykers aren't the best when it comes to this. I don't know this from experience mind you but have heard it many times. Not that your radio is a pos or anything. It may be a great sounding radio I don't know.

Well my radio was tuned as an export should be..Its done by a trusted tec with proper equ and knowlage and confirmed by stryker themselves..
Even bone stock my radio should do much better..Its someting im not seeing that will open it up..Thats why i got myself an analyzer..Got lots to learn cause this toy has created more headaches that i knew exsisted plus i made so many changes that i may have forgotten or didnt do something.Whos to say that the guys i did briefly talk to dont have a decient set up..

As for the stryker 955 i have yet to see a bad review...If you have shoot me a link to see for myself..

No bad reviews. Just have had several techs tell me they aren't known to be the greatest transmitters is all. I still almost bought one myself. They have some nice features tho if I recall most of them still have the mic jack on the side which I don't like. The 955 is set up nice tho. I like the large meter and freq. counter AND the lights. They aren't junk by any means. I just think for the money, you get more from a connex or Galaxy as far as quality. Just my opinion after all I've taken in from my amateur research.

Mic is out front..Extra features are that you can use a laptop to make roger beeps yourself within stryker software..There is some freq stuff you can do and you can change some of the built in protection levels to,such as voltage,swr..Hell you can change the radio name that shows up on the screen..look st my avatar..
955 is new from the ground up so it doesnt compare to past models..
I used to be one of those guys at the truck stop saven a dollar by getting it cheap..I have learned to spend more to get quality but i have so much more to learn yet..
Every time i think i know enuf about this stuff i learn somethin more that makes me realize there is a entire new world of info about these lil ole trucker buddy electronics..No more of this radio and coax and ant from a trk stop then to a tec to turn it up anymore..Just not that simple these days..

rfx-75 is putting out 120 watts?

    That's good for a 20 watt $10 fet.

No, I think you did. My 29 was putting out over 120. Personally I could care less if you believe it or not.

Nope didn't miss the point, I know what's in the "rfx-75" and the fet is only rated at 20 watts, not 120 watts.

I'm confused, I thought they were 75watts, hence the name "rfx 75"?
