LOL, it does sound like a joke... I don't know how to explain how it works either. Check it out--->http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...395-whats-your-thought-of-antenna-design.html

Well none of that applies to my issue..I hear a slight engine whine but thats really really low, barely hear it actually..
My issue is pluggin in the power fory gps and when i touch the gps screen..Also when i am goin down the road at speed i didnt really notice the amount of static till i let my truck coast..When i let it coast and foot off the fuel my radio was almost dead quiet but when i got back on the fuel, static started up again..
Another question...
If my antenna is about 5" closer to truck does that make any diff??
I mounted my ant with a mount but it has to be closer to trk cause of the lil cross bar that steadys mirror arm.. -
Now they may work allot better on a Base set-up running a yagi where you can cut out allot of ground noise and point your signal more directional towards a particular station...Haven't tried that, would be interesting to find out... -
I'm sure each install is different, heck mine quieted 1S just by tilting forward to 1:30 position.

You guys are too funny, talking about linears and such.
Well to the static issue here are the quotes from that other thread just for s&g

Oh one thing is the word quality, you can't get that by using some of the junk on the market. Most of it is made from a poor old design.
If you want to know what quality is, look for an amp that uses some hardcore power fets. I have yet to see a CB amp that has one in it. -
####, why hasn't anyone thought of putting out a quality amp but you huh? Go figure! Now that I know no one else knows anything about amps, maybe you could build me one.
TheDude1969 Thanks this. -
I'm told the Xforce is good, but he is also a one man operation... If that makes a diff? I know of 2 people running crazy 1kw-10kw power and are not splattering as much as I'd of thought.Last edited: Jan 6, 2014
