Recently installed this radio in my F350. I have the positive wire going to Aux #1 with the inline fuse that came with it and the ground going to the negative post on the battery with a circuit breaker in line.
My antenna is a Wilson 5000 mag mount. My SWR tested with an external meter from Radio Shack is 1.3 on channel 1 and 1.3 on channel 40.
When I key up the mic the ant light stays off but when I start to speak it will flash rapidly with the first few words then go out and stay out until I key up and speak again. If I turn the Dynamike down to 2.5 it stops.
Anyone ever experience any thing like this? Any suggestions and what could be wrong? Could it be a mic problem?
Thanks

Has it been peeked and tuned? , if so then it's one of 2 things, they didn't align the sensor for for the peek, another is that it's tuned to the max and these new cobras with that sensor are sensitive, so even though your antenna is good, the sensor will come on. I have a Browning antenna at a perfect 1.0 from 1-40 and it does the same thing, but I've had it checked by different cb shops to be on the safe side and they said the same thing, it's doing good just at 30 watts, and I've had it for a good while.

Like poppapump said, 29 Classics are notorious for sensitive antenna light indicators. My '93 model is the same. If your SWR is fine on your meter, it's good.
