Does anyone have any experience running the Wilson Silver Load fiberglass antenna. For years, I've ran either a Wilson 5000 or a Wilson 2000. I've been running part-time for the last couple years so I really don't have a permanent antenna mounted on a truck because I slip-seat every weekend. The factory stock antennas that come on the trucks I drive are crap, even for my boosted/peaked CB. I want to get an antenna to have, even if it takes 10mins to install and uninstall at the beginning and end of my shift....if I go Wilson 2000, I know what I'm getting myself in as far as sound/reception, etc. While searching eBay last night, I noticed this Wilson SilverLoad which I didn't know about before.

Has anyone or is anyone running the Wilson SilverLoad. The purpose of me buying a SilverLoad vs a Wilson 2000 is merely Cost. The Silverload is about 1/2 the price of the Wilson 2000.

Figured I'd throw it out there before I made the leap and purchased one or the other.

Silverload is a top loaded fiberglass whip, in lengths up to 5 feet. 5/8 wave, similar to a Firestick II with a tunable tip.

Look around a little, and you can find the 2000, various Francis, and others at better prices, even the Silverload varies a bit at different outlets.

The 2000 will take more wattage than the fiberglass sticks.
