Ok I have a stock Cobra 29 WX NW and was using the stock antenna that comes on the Cascadia. I just need some help
on figuring out how I can increase my distance beyond only being able to pickup and listen to trucks 50 yard from me. I
changed the antenna with a short white 1000w K40 but I havent noticed a difference. So whats the cheapest way to increase my distance? Thnx

Dump the K40 and get a Wilson 5000. It'll make all the difference in the world. Check your SWRs before you do that though. That alone could be the problem.

I hope so because even with a K40 you should get out a whole lot farther than 50 feet.

I have the same radio on a 2011 Cascadia daycab. I run a good coax (clear with copper shield) from the radio out the right door to a Francis 5.5 ft. fiberglass antenna mounted on the airline slide bar with a vice grip mount. Usually good for at least 3, but sometimes 6-7 miles. The 5.5 does much better than a 5.

Get someone to tune your radio properly and you should see a big difference
